Who:

Winona ORC serves people in Southeastern Minnesota who have disabilities. The individuals we serve need to be 18 years or older, have self-care skills, and written verification of their disability. We serve people with a variety of disabilities including mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, chemical dependency, and physical impairments.

Programs

Career Options provides day training and habilitation services for persons with developmental delays or related conditions. The services offered are supported employment, center based employment, work related activities, transportation, and community integrated activities. Additional services include the development of communication and cognitive skills, emotional expression skills, self-care skills, adaptive behaviors and social skills.

Supported Employment provides gainful employment, independence, and community integration to adults with disabilities. The services offered are job development, job placement, assistance in developing resumes and written letters, on the job training, follow up services and supports on and/or off the work site, and coordination with employers. By definition, supported employment means that an individual get hired directly by an employer and earns a competitive wage. WORC staff will maintain ongoing contact with both the individual and the employer to identify goals, assist in maintaining the position, and for problem solving as needed.

Community Employment provides employment opportunities to adults with disabilities. This program places small teams of workers into community businesses under the guidance of a supervisor. The services offered are job coaching, quality checks to meet customer standards, learning new job tasks, and support with problem solving as needed.

Center Based Employment provides income producing employment, work experience, work adjustment, and support services for adults with disabilities. The individuals in this program develop and increase their vocational skills such as attendance, productivity, and co-worker relations, receive job training, and learn work related job skills for potential supported employment.

Next Step Program aids in the development of career placement for people with serious and persistent mental illness into community-based jobs. The services offered are assessment of current work skills, job development, job placement, job training, and support services with both the individual and the employer.

Employment Services in Wisconsin provides supported and community employment to adults with disabilities. The services offered are job development, placement services, and job coaching, vocational training and support services.

Welfare to Work Program provides employment opportunities and support services to individuals with severe impairments to employment. The services offered are work activity and skills training, job placement into competitive employment, job retention, and education on balancing work and personal lives.
