Dear Friends,

 

Over 320 of our neighbors with disabilities woke up this morning to a job – an opportunity provided by Winona ORC through our community partnerships. Employment opportunities provide  people the dignity of work and the pride of earning a paycheck. These days making ends meet are tough for everyone, and Winona ORC was no exception this year. In order to balance the budget, we had to reduce costs by over $300,000.  We worked diligently on cutting costs and becoming as lean and efficient as possible without sacrificing our services to over 320 people with disabilities.

 

Areas that were focused on:
-A 10% staff reduction and other administrative cuts totaling $120,000.
-We streamlined our bus routes leading to a more economical transportation service.
-We created processes in our operations to maximize efficiencies which produced cost savings of over $100,000.
-We developed a new quoting tool for sales opportunities.
-We implemented an improved safety program.
