Winona ORC (WORC) held its annual banquet and recognized clients, staff, and community members for their generous support in 2009 on Friday, February 19th. Over 150 people attended this years event, themed ‘Essential Pieces.’
Awards given included: Customer of the Year to Watkins for their continued support of Winona ORC’s production program; Community Based Employer Recognition to RTP Company for providing job opportunities for people with disabilities including janitorial work; Supported Employment Employer of the Year to Minnesota Bus Company for their support through competitive employment by using our Placement program; and Special Recognition Award to Peerless Chain Company for their on-going support to WORC in a variety of ways, including providing over 8,000 hours of meaningful work to our clients in 2009. The 2009 Volunteers of the Year are Grace Mueller and Penny Smith who volunteer a combined 16 hours per week in our sewing department. The 2009 Employee of the Year voted on by staff and clients is Tim Flak.
Two clients also celebrated their 35th year of service at Winona ORC – Lynn Meyers and Janice Borkowski. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to WORC.
