Winona ORC’s Annual Community Recognition Banquet
Winona ORC held its Community Recognition Banquet on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Visions Event Center. This annual event celebrates and recognizes the contributions that clients, staff and area businesses have made to the success of Winona ORC. The theme this year was, “Dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.” The celebration marked the 40th anniversary for Winona ORC and featured guest speaker Tasha Schuh.
Winona ORC’s employee of the year went to Lynn Meyers; a dedicated employee of Winona ORC who will be celebrating 40 years of service in 2014. Meyers has had a variety of jobs such as packaging, assembly and janitorial services and continues to learn new skills.
Frank Rekuski and Robert Liebig received special recognition for their generous gift of the million dollar Lewiston Villa property to Winona ORC.
Winona ORC was honored to recognize the following business for the role they played in furthering our mission of providing job opportunities for people with disabilities:
Wincraft, Inc was awarded Customer of the Year for providing over 190 clients with 20,000 hours of work assembling 1.2 million pieces of spirit items.
Riverside Electronics was awarded Community Employer of the Year. Riverside provides nearly 500 hours of work each month to Winona ORC clients. In addition to providing work, Riverside Electronics also makes a special effort to include WORC workers in their company activities such as holiday functions and employee recognition meals.
The Supported Employment Employer of the Year went to Experience Works. By collaborating with Experience Works, more than 20 clients have found successful employment opportunities within our community.
